Why From-Scratch Apple Cider Donuts Taste Better Than Mixes

Not all apple cider donuts are created equal.

Here in Jersey, you’ll find plenty of farms and roadside stands selling them but here’s the thing most folks don’t know: a lot of those donuts come from a pre-made mix. Open a bag, add water, fry, done.

That’s not how we do apple cider donuts at Timberline Farms and Black Market Bakery in Hammonton, NJ.

Our apple cider donuts are made from scratch with just seven simple ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, whole milk, our own pasture-raised eggs, and apple cider we reduce ourselves with real cinnamon sticks. That’s it. No shortcuts.

We boil the cider down until it’s thick and fragrant, fold it into the dough, and make every batch fresh, which is why you’ll taste a real difference the moment you take a bite.

Are we biased? Definetly. But once you’ve had one, you’ll get it.

If you’re on the hunt for fresh, from-scratch apple cider donuts in Hammonton, NJ, come see us. We’ll save you a dozen but no promises on how long they’ll last once you get them home…
